Hi, I’m Nishen Peiris — a Technical Lead with over seven years of experience in designing, building, and leading software solutions.

I graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, where I explored everything from IoT and embedded systems to software engineering, databases, and computer networks. Since then, my career has been shaped by a deep passion for solving real-world problems with technology.

Currently, I work as a Java Tech Lead, guiding teams, driving system design decisions, and ensuring scalable, reliable solutions.

I started my professional journey with an internship at ShipXpress (a GE Transportation company), and over the years, I’ve gained broad experience in microservices, cloud platforms (AWS), Keycloak, Tyk API gateway, AdroidLogic UltraESB, and real-time systems.

Install Java 8 on Ubuntu

Hi all, In this post, I'm going to show you how to install JDK 8 on Ubuntu 14.04. Java Platform, Standard Edition 8 is a major feature release. For more details see What's New in JDK 8 . First verify that your Linux distribution doesn't have Java 8 installed by default.
